The newly anticipated search engine: Wolfram Alpha, will air sometime in may 2009.

Wolfram Alpha

This video from YouTube explains well what it does, although it’s a bit blurry because it isn’t HD quality. We personally haven’t been able to test it out, however the embed video from YouTube will walk you through the possibilities of the search engine. The possibilities are especially great for data lovers (Google also launched it’s public data search, which supposedly is competitive to Alpha’s – however don’t jump to conclusions as Alpha isn’t live yet.) As for how this editor uses Google and Wikipedia, I’d actually imagine that Wolfram Alpha could be more of a Wikipedia competitor than a Google competitor (because Google is actually already that big).Let us know what you think of the new search engine in the comments.
