It’s not easy to monetize webmaster traffic (like mine) with adsense. Most of the times I end up making more money with banner sales or affiliate sales than from adsense. So far I had been using web1.0 banners and will try the rectangles soon. Even if it increases revenue by 5/10 percent the effort would have paid for itself.
We are not talking about 5-10 percent here. We are talking about 100 percent to even 400 percent using proper placements and colors. Really, change it and AdSense can be more lucrative than any other affiliate network.
Will try on one of the blogs and report the results here. Time for me to play for some css to change layouts :))

Hi guys,
Thank you for providing such great insight into Adsense and how to best implement it with the best return.
What I have noticed, too, is that if you have a blog or website in a niche where the competition for the keywords is not very high, your earnings from Adsense won’t be very high, either. Like, I have this site http://www.mybeachdecor.com, and I am getting quite a lot of traffic from search engines. I am also getting quite a few clicks per day. Trouble is that each of those clicks makes me roughly $0.10, so it doesn’t add up to much in total.
On the other hand, my blog about Internet Marketing, http://wwww.petra-weiss.com, doesn’t get anywhere near as much search engine traffic yet, but every AdSense click earns me around $0.80 – $1.00, sometimes even higher. So which niche you pick for your site makes a big difference!
Yup exactly. The ROI (Return on Investment) for the advertisers determines how high your CPC is. On the other hand, the more advertisers there are the more they are bidding for the keywords, so going into niches with a lot of advertisers should result in a decent CPC as well :).
At the end it’s all about traffic tough, that’s the variable you should work on optimizing.
ehm..its good guide for adsense. Thanks for write all of this. Hope i can earn well with adsense soon.
have not started using any advertisements, but have registered for adsense and that will be the first ad that I use on my blog

Keep up the Good work my friends
Cheers
Sandeep
I have been registered with Adsense for quite some time already. they definitely work well for English blogs. but for blogs written in other languages other than English, it’s not as expected.
do you have any clue what to do in order that Adsense can also work well on non English blogs, instead of public service ads?
thanks in advance
The problem is not AdSense, the problem is that there are too few advertisers in other countries. If there are no advertisers then google can’t display relevant ads. No relevant ads means that AdSense doesn’t work at all.
The only thing you can do is:
-Use section targeting
-Convince advertisers to placement target your site
I sometimes google for my keyword, look at the available advertisers and ask them to placement target me.
I’ve had some very good results with my Dutch site. I guess it depends on your niche.
Yup exactly. The general rule: The more niche the better.
Adsense can be quite a complicated monster for beginners. The big secret is to drive organic traffic as opposed to social traffic. Number don’t mean anything if the traffic doesn’t convert.

AdSense font size depends on whether you want your Ads to stand out or blend in. And how would you know which one is better? Test them and use AdSense channels to track the progress.
Hendrik’s post on setting up AdSense channels should help.
Do adsense ads appear in mails sent by feedburner to email subscribers? I am asking this because I don’t get to see any in my mailbox (in Thunderbird).
Nope they won’t appear in the emails as far as I know. Putting Ads in there would be overkill I think.
Nice to see that you organised all the posts in a list post. Really helps us readers to get the right info at right time.
BTW I have seen people intergrating Adsense in S/W and getting away for years. Any idea how they do it. The software is a kill though as similar software cost atleast 100+.

I have not updated my blogs that use adsense because , I am very much bored with adsense because according to my prospective adsense wants lot of patience for earning money but this post give me passion and confidence to start working on adsense again.
Hi,
There are many techniques, u should always update your knowledge about online ads and about Google adsense, try to search for “Google Adsense Tutorial” and they give u many useful tips.
An all in one Adsense reference blog. This is very helpful, especially for those who are just starting out to use adsense ads.
I recently decided to turn on adsense after my post. The ads look great and content is awesome I just can’t see the impressions in Adsense. I have always used adsense code and inserts it into to certain areas and tracking no issue with channels. How can I track the impressions with adsense under my post, since you can’t pick a channel?
Adsense CPC becomes $0.01. What the heck?
Have i been smartpriced?
Is it for all your clicks? If so, then yes you are smart-priced. There is not much you can do about it, because noone really knows a cure for that. You are being smart-priced because the advertisers are not getting any conversions from the clicks you are getting on your ads. It can happen to anyone, don’t worry.
See this post on smart pricing and how to probably solve it.
